End of Year Summary

2014 has without doubt exceeded all of our expectations!  We predicted continued growth which was achieved by an impressive increase in turnover of 31.5%.

Otis Hanley, CEO of SafetyNet Security Group, has recently outlined his plans for the continued expansion of the company, during the coming year, details of which will be announced early 2015.

The year started with the takeover of a site in Rickmansworth on behalf of Brown and Mason.  This was quickly followed early February by the takeover of another highly prestigious site on behalf of GBR Phoenix Beard; Dickens Heath Village in Solihull.  We were delighted to welcome the 4 members of the security/concierge team who transferred over to SafetyNet under TUPE, from Mitie.

March was an important month as we finally become approved suppliers of security to ‘amey’.  This was quickly followed by the news that amey had selected SafetyNet Security Group to provide a complete security solution, which incorporated static guarding, an electronics solution and a range of other duties, to the forthcoming amey ‘brum’ tunnels project.

Also in March our relationship with our biggest client ‘Brown & Mason’ developed further with the award of the contract to supply static security to Kingsnorth Power Station in Kent.  We put into place a new security team of 6 personnel for this project, which is anticipated will continue for approximately 3-years.

April saw the commencement of our involvement with amey, with the supply of 300+ hours per week to a site in Aston, Birmingham, which would become the main Headquarters for the ‘Brum’ tunnels project.

In June, we were delighted to be awarded a short-term 12-week contract to supply Static Security/Traffic Control Officers to the University of Warwick.  This project saw the deployment of up to 16 security personnel, drawn from a team of 25 daily, Monday to Friday.

Early July saw the commencement of the amey ‘Brum’ tunnels project.  Initially this requirement was for the deployment of 13 Security Officers working a night shift for a period of 2-weeks.  A working pool of 50+ security personnel was put together for this project.  After the initial 2-week period, the tunnels were closed full time to the public, thus increasing the requirement for SafetyNet Security group to supply 26 Security Officers working 12-hour shifts.  At its height the hours increased to 2366 hours per week.  At the end of August, the requirement reduced back to nights only and continued for a further 7 weeks.

Mid-August saw the takeover of another new concierge site, the Pump in Kitts Green and this was quickly followed early September by the award and takeover of another prestigious contract on behalf of Brown & Mason, ‘Grain Power Station’.  This assignment is just 7 miles from Kingsnorth Power Station.  Again we were able to quickly recruit a team of 5 Security Officers for this assignment and we welcome them into the fold.

During October the Auditors from CCAS carried out their annual ISO/ACS combined audit and we were delighted to be able to report another increase in score which now places us in the top 25% of medium size security companies in the UK.

With the audit safely out of the way, it was back to winning new business.  November was a particularly busy month for all, with the award of 6 new contracts.  Corey’s Sports Bar in Tamworth was taken over and added to our already existing and impressive portfolio of clients.  This was quickly followed by the takeover of the contract to supply Static Security/Traffic Control Officers to Tamworth Snowdome for the 2014 Winter Wonderland.

The addition of our new Retail Business Development Manager to our team brought instant results.  Three major National Retailers are now utilizing the services of SafetyNet Security Group for the supply of Store Detectives and Uniformed Retail Loss Prevention Officers.

We finished November on a high with the award and takeover of another prestigious concierge site in the heart of Birmingham City Centre.

Early December saw the arrival of Richard Whiteley, our new Director of Operations and Business Development.  Richard will now work closely with our CEO to move SafetyNet  Security Group to the next level.

Finally, we received the news that London and Cambridge Properties had awarded SafetyNet Security Group the contract to supply static security guarding to Burntwood Business Park.  We took over this assignment on Thursday 18th December, and welcomed the 2 members of the existing security team, Stuart and Russ, who transferred over under TUPE regulations from Advance Security.

Otis Hanley, CEO SafetyNet Security summarised by saying “As a company we look forward to 2015, full of anticipation.  Through continued investment in Staff, Technology and Resources, I have clearly seen the benefits to the company as we are now operating on a National basis.  I firmly believe that by continued investment, SafetyNet Security Group will continue to grow in line with my predicted expansion plans.  I would also like to take this opportunity to wish all of my staff and customers a very happy and prosperous new year”.
